Dirstav began his adventuring days with the Brotherhood of the Natural 20’s under the mentorship of one Douven Staul. Douven did not ask questions of Dirstav past nor were any answers given. Little is known of Dirstav’s clan-life, beyond he at one time served as an apprenticed cooper.
During his early adventures with the band, Dirstav proved himself a loyal compaignion, stalwart warrior and unrivalled (amongest the Roughnecks) drinker. During these early adventures solving Winterhaven’s kobold problem, Dirstav was a barrel of laughs and full of ideas on how to solve problems and who to trust, which never fully panned out. Unfortunately, these laughs and poor ideas led Dirstav to generally be dismissed by the bands leaders when it comes to deciding how to proceed.
When the adventurers confronted the true source of Winterhaven’s woes the dwarf was nearly scarificed to the demi-god Orcus, by the foul zealot Kalarel. These events forever changed the dwarf, since this time Dirstav has become more morose, serious and a follower of the Raven Queen.
Spending hours underground within the Thunderspire Labyrinth and later the Pyramid of Shadows, has created a longing in Dirstav to return to his homeland and confront his past.
This longing was further added to when Dirstav saved a human child, Paulpol the son of the reeve of Napina. Dirstav struck up a friendship with the young child and on occasion called him Unidarth. Dirstav carries with him at all times a small doll Paulpol gave him.
Dirstav has also started to preach the glories of the Lady of Winter in the town of Fallcrest. This grass roots movement has attracted a small number of followers meeting in basements of the converts. He has begun to collect a number of objects in order to build a temple to his deity.
